Evaluation of the Action Plan for Farming
In 2000, the UK Prime Minister launched a programme of 63 measures aimed at improving the competitiveness of UK agriculture, enhancing rural development, simplifying legislation and improving food safety. The evaluation of this Action Plan considered its implementation, efficiency and effectiveness and provided recommendations in relation to future initiatives of this kind. The research was conducted through interviews with programme administrators and beneficiaries. A matrix of cross impacts approach was used to assess the performance of the Action Plan as a whole.
