This study for DG SANTE builds on a previous report by Agra CEAS Consulting which covered the sportsfood market and was completed in 2009. This updated report quantified the market for sportsfood products in 2014 with a special focus on the evolution since the 2009 report. The market outlook to 2016 was assessed under the assumption of the continuation of current policy towards this group of foods. The report included an analysis of the type of products consumed and an analysis of the relevant consumer groups. The market was assessed at the EU-28 level with a special, and more in-depth, focus on the key EU markets for these products. The report included a description of national and third country legislation on these product groups.
